Visakhapatnam Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Visakhapatnam chapter chairman and RINL Director (Commercial) D.K. Mohanty on Saturday said young industrial leaders should be familiar with global markets.

He was speaking at the 13th annual session of CII Young Indians local unit with the theme focusing on the future of leadership.

Mohanty in his address said that leaders need to understand and appreciate new cultures, actively seek diverse teams, lead employees with different backgrounds, and know how to enter and succeed in new global markets.

Embracing technology and using it to improve efficiency in the organisation while also providing a sense of purpose and caring for human employees are two most essential terms for a successful leader, he said.

Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh & Executive Chairman, Vijayanagar Biotech Pvt Ltd D. Tirupathi Raju announced at the meeting that Ananya Gopalsetty, Associate, PL Hospitalities LLP to be the-chair and Jagapathi Roy Kodali, CEO of Kodali HOme Pvt. Ltd as the co-chair of Visakhapatnam chapter of Young Indians for 2021.

Ragam Kishore, vice chairman, CII Visakhapatnam zone & CEO & Director, Vizag Seaport Pvt Ltd (VSPL) in his address said that there are huge opportunities available for youngsters as the world is wide open for change which has to be driven by youth. India has the great strength of having 700 million youth below the age of 40 to achieve a 5 trillion economy India.

Varun Jami, co-founder, Green Jams in the panel discussion said that young entrepreneurs need to analyze and understand the business which they want to start to overcome the challenges they face initially. There are a lot of opportunities in Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh that can be explored from access to resources, finance, connections, policy, go-to-market for startups.

Rajaneesh Vasanta, founder, Antar IoT in the panel discussion said that improving operational efficiencies, connecting with people, adopting latest technology, building trust with stakeholders and being optimistic about the future leads a successful entrepreneur. Baargav Daggirala, chair, Young Indians (Visakhapatnam chapter) made a detailed presentation on the activities of Young Indians.

During the presentation, he mentioned the highlights and milestones of the Young Indians Visakhapatnam chapter.
